"A
butterfly lights beside us, like a sunbeam...and for a brief moment, it's glory
and beauty belong to our world...but then it flies on again, and although we
wish it could have stayed, we are so thankful to have seen it at all."
On June 8, 2004, a Butterfly bush, a Butterfly house and a Lilac bush were planted in the courtyard of Taylor's beloved school in honor of her memory. Live butterflies were released in her honor as well. Several of them lit upon the teacher's and her parent's hands and one actually flew in among the children scattering them in laughter! Was that Taylor's way of saying "Hello!"? Pastor Stowe shared a scripture with us all and led us in prayer and the children sang several songs. We were presented with a generous donation from the graduating fifth grade class and with beautiful scrapbooks that they had assembled with stories and pictures of Taylor. After the dedication we had a picnic lunch and spent time visiting with the children! It was an absolutely beautiful day and we feel so fortunate and blessed to have been a part of it. Once again, thank you Gloria Dei for all that you did today and for all that you have done for us in the past! We love you all so much!
